Culinary Experience

In our restaurant, you can experience a culinary journey through Hardanger.

We are proud of our partnership with local food and drink producers - something that is reflected in the care given to the dishes served at Hardanger House.

Welcome to our restaurant

In our restaurant we usually serve a pre-established 3-course menu at 7 p.m. for 745kr per person.

Non-residential guests can procure for reservations at least 1-2 days in advance.

We have the capacity for 40 people in our restaurant, and conference facilities for about 22 people.

Our 3-course menu's

These 3 menu's rotate based on availability from local producers.

Menu 1

  • Mountain trout with broccoli variations and aromatic kefir.
  • Local deer served with parsnip from Hauane gard, mushrooms, and kale chips, deer jus with lingonberries
  • Sea buckthorn berries, white chocolate, basil

Menu 2

  • Scallops with cauliflower and apple salsa
  • Duck breast with carrots, beets, Jerusalem artichoke chips, and port wine glaze
  • Raspberry tart with brown cheese cream

Menu 3

  • Shellfish soup with Norway lobster and pickled fennel served with bread and whipped butter
  • Oven-baked white fish with summer cabbage, hand-picked wild garlic, spring turnips, and apple cider butter sauce
  • Apple cake with vanilla ice cream from Dolcevidda in Eidfjord

**Vegetables and main ingredients may vary based on availability and occupancy at the hotel. Based on close cooperation with our suppliers, the composition of the menu can also be changed when the seasons approach.

Food Courses

In addition to the gastronomic experiences at our restaurant, we also offer a course on our food, where you'll have a window into the preparation and presentation of our local ingredients, and their respective drinks.

These food courses will give you insight to some of  Hardanger's secrets, giving you something extra to take home from your stay.
